Understand the Covenant and Covenant Channels of Blessings
A covenant is an agreement between two parties.
Examples.
-David and Jonathan. 1 Sam18:3
-God and David. Psalms 89:20 Psalms 89:3
-Joshua and the Gibeonites. Josh 9:15
-God and Noah. Genesis 9:13
-God and Samson. Jud 13:7
-God and Jacob. Gen 28:20
-Enemies of Paul. Acts 23:12
A covenant is an agreement between God and His people based on well-defined terms and conditions, ratified and blood and sealed by God with an oath.
The four things that make up the covenant
1) The promise of God. i.e to transform the earth into His kingdom by prospering His people
2)Terms and conditions. i.e. that His people commit to depend on Him as the sole provider and all-sufficient supplier of all things. Jam 1:17, 1 Cor 10:26
3)Ratification. i.e giving ourselves to all channels of seed sowing. Gen 8:22
4) The seal: God commits himself by oath
Understanding the Supremacy of the Covenant.
- The covenant is superior to prevailing economic circumstances (Gen42:15-27, Ps. 33:18-19, Ps37:18-19).
- It is superior because it is grounded in the unshakeable and superior economy of God.
- It is superior because God cannot lie who has bound his oath to the covenant
- It is superior because God is all-sufficient. James 1:17
Covenant channels of blessings include:
- Tithe – (Mal 3:6-10, Gen14:19, Matt. 23:23, Heb7:8)
- Worship offerings- (Matt. 10:41-44, Deut. 16:16-17)
- Sacrifices – (Ps 126:1-6, Ps. 20:1-3)
Understand How God blesses
- Rain of divine ideas – (Gen. 7:11/Mal 3:10, Joel 2:21-23, Is. 11:3, Gen.30:37-43)
- Blessing on the works of your hand –(Ps 1:1-3, Job 1:9-10)
- Rain of divine favour – (Ex 3:21/ Exo12:36, Gen.39:5,21)
